California Regulations (CalRecycle)

SB 1215 amends the Electronic Waste Recycling Act and adds covered battery-embedded products to the CEW Recycling Program.

Covered battery-embedded product means a product covered in this program that contains a battery that is not designed to be easily removed by the user with no more than commonly used household tools.

Glo Pals Light-Up Cubes are regulated by SB 1215. For compliance standards, battery chemistry and recycling information is below:

Battery Type & Chemistry: Each Glo Pals Light-Up Cube contains three (3) embedded Alkaline (LR41) button cell batteries. These batteries are sealed within the product to meet child safety standards and are not user-replaceable.

Proper Disposal & Recycling: Because the batteries are embedded, Glo Pals Light-Up Cubes should not be disposed of in standard household trash. Under California Senate Bill 1215 and other e-waste regulations, this product is classified as an "electronic device with an embedded battery."

How to Recycle:

  • Do not attempt to open the cube or remove the batteries yourself.

  • Please dispose of the entire cube at an authorized Electronic Waste (e-waste) collection facility.
